Business Development Associate

Opticon is looking for a Business Development Associate to find and develop qualified sales leads in the channel and within industry verticals along with helping to manage and grow Opticon’s brand and business recognition.  To be successful in this role, you will need to be motivated, coachable, and personable.  We will need you to help boost sales by researching accounts, identifying key players, establishing contacts and relationships, generating interest and developing accounts to stimulate opportunities.  The Business Development Associate will also provide broad support for the day-to-day sales and marketing operations of the company.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ability to jumpstart an outbound sales business development model
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new leads while maintaining and growing existing accounts
  • Supports sales team through follow up and distribution of qualified leads
  • Deliver results against defined activity
  • Sales funnel growth and early stage forecasting
  • Commitment to building an understanding of our target markets, our competitors and our solutions

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Actively assist in creating marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Help manage and support trade shows, conferences, webinars etc.
  • Help produce marketing collateral materials, such as case studies, brochures, datasheets and presentations
  • Improve and maintain social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.), website content and lead database
  • Prepare and execute email, direct mail, publicity, telemarketing, online advertising and social media marketing campaigns
  • Help solve customer or partner problems and help them achieve their goals
  • Disciplined, must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as directed by the management team

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and/or training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign
  • Experience with digital, print, email, audio and video platforms
  • Experience with posting and advertising on the various social media platforms and with editing webpages and content using WordPress
  • Ability and willingness to travel (overseas as well).

Location:  The Business Development Associate will work out of Opticon’s North American headquarters in Renton, WA.

East Coast Sales Account Manager

We are looking for a passionate, driven Sales Account Manager who will partner with our customers and ensure their long-term success. The Sales Account Manager role is to manage a portfolio of assigned customers and partners, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new opportunities.

Profile:

  • 5+ years experience selling technical products preferred
  • Auto ID/barcode experience required
  • Channel experience required
  • OEM sales experience a plus
  • Located in a major city in the Eastern part of USA
  • Remote position with candidate working from a home office
  • Able and willing to travel (overseas as well)
  • College degree preferred 

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly motivated and results oriented

  • Demonstrated successful track record prospecting and selling directly and through the channel
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining relationships with channel partners

  • Proficiency in managing multiple resources such as channels, sales engineering support, professional services, etc. 

  • Previous quota assignments (not less than $1.5M+) with successful performance against quota for multiple years

  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) and negotiation skills
  • Experience selling in a technology hardware related environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as work in a collaborative, team environment
